Building Preparation Process

At Alpha Carpentry & Construction we provide building services for new homes, extensions, decks and more throughout the Central Coast. When constructing a new home, there’s a few things that need to be taken care of before we can begin.

First things first; you’ll need to make sure you’ve secured your site. Unfortunately, we can’t commence a design contract unless you own the site upon which you plan to build.

 Next up, you’ll need to organise for your site to be surveyed—or obtain an existing survey if available. We can put you in contact with our recommended surveyor if you’d like. Some of the key things that will affect your designs will be the size of the site area, whether your property falls to the front or the rear and if any easements exist.

Onto the next stage, we’ll be looking to see if you have a set of existing draft plans. Again, if you haven’t already had these created, we can provide a recommended draftsman who we work very closely with.

Finally before proceeding with designs, we’ll need to talk budget. This is where we agree on what you are looking to spend as this will determine the designs we create. Total transparency is needed between you—the client—us, our draftsman and builder to achieve the best results.
